Sažetak
The paper describes data model for compulsory automobile liability insurance. Compulsory liability insurance of the owner (motor vehicle user) for third party damages is executed according to the Insurance law. Along with the Law, there are numerous regulatory documents which need to be integrated into the data model as a copy of the real world. The represented data model is the basis for developing an application for issuing automobile liability insurance policies. The model has the needed flexibility in the sense of connecting to existing segments of the information system in sales and damages of an insurance company. The entity-relationship method, i.e. an expanded variant of the Chen method, is used for modelling. The data model can also be observed from the aspect of possible market changes by introducing a certain degree of price liberalization for compulsory automobile liability insurance. Element that introduces dynamics into the suggested model is concisely described based on theoretical findings and insurance market experiences outside Croatia, but can also be observed as a complex problem in modelling a potential solution in the future.
