Sažetak
In the last decade there has been an enormous growth in the number of GPS devices onboard vehicles, some of those being installed as personal navigation aids, fleet management systems or security applications. Many of these devices have the ability of providing very accurate information on vehicle movement in time and space. On the other side, there has been a growing demand for more accurate Origin-Destination (O/D) matrices of population movements especially in urban envoronments which could provide base models for many transport planning applications. These O/D matrices are generally produced by various questionnaries and through model calibration. This paper presents a method which could be used for large scale O/D matrix estimation , especially in non-urban envoronmemnts. The system is based on voluntary and anonymous data acquisition from GPS devices onboarad vehicles and complex GIS spatial analysis which mar or may not be combined with standard data to produce , if provided with an adequate sample, high precision O/D matrices.
