Sažetak
This article referes to a certain provisions of bilateral investment treaties to which the Republic croatia is a party. Considerations are restricted to the jurisdiction of diffrent bodies provided for the settlement of disputes between states and foreign private investors. Special attention is given to those provisions which prescribe for the prior and mandatory mediation procedure and subsequent elective jurisdiction of different bodies. Author points out that a number of croatian treaties have serious deficiencies though they can be noted in bilateral investment treaties to which other states are parties too. consequently author concludes that the need for thorough and more careful regulation of those matters is obvious - as well as for the revision and /or improvements of existent croatian BITs.
