Sažetak
The texts presents and examines an instructive case of a specific public facility with sacral purpose – the new Pastoral Center at Trsat in Rijeka by Randić&Turato from 2008, an object that successfully organizes and enables both private and public interests and uses. The object functions as a peculiar contextual machine for welcoming and organizing flows of visitors, offering spatial framework for various sacral and cultural programs and uses. Interesting here is how the project itself, through its autonomous architectural workings, skillfully enables the productive interchange of public and private spaces and uses, and truly becomes that desired social space: space of gathering, interaction and social integration.
