Sažetak
The paper presents physical and chemical process in ageing of polyurethanes, PUR. The mechanism of photooxidative degradation PUR is presented.
The course and the intensity of the changes in molecular, supermolecular and morphological structures of PUR due to the photooxidative degradation as well as under thermal treatment are revieved.
These changes were followed by comparative spectroscopic measurements (IR, NMR) as well as by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). The static mechanical measurements before and after ageing were also presented.
The influence of the nature of polyols used in the syntheses of PUR on the chemical and physical process during ageing are discussed. The correlation between intensities of structural changes of PUR and its mechanical properties are presented. The process of photooxidative degradation and the physical process in PUR affected by thermal treatment affected the domain morphology of PUR and are dependent upon the type of polyols and the conditions of experiments.
