Sažetak
The possible effects of some abiotic factors (sediment type, depth, time of the day and night) on the distribution and catch accessibility of two Stomatopoda species, Rissoides desmaresti and Rissoides pallidus, were studied in the Adriatic Sea. The islands and inshore waters of the eastern Adriatic were not included. The biological material was collected by Italian commercial trawler "PIPETA" in the 1984-1993 period. Samplings were performed continuously, by day and night. The biological material was preserved at the Laboratory for Marine Biology and Fisheries in Fano, Italy. Species were identified using the Froglia and Manning (1) key. Sunrise, sunset, and moon rise and set are expressed by Central European Times (zone index = +1h). Results point to the fact that the distribution of Stomatopoda species is affected by abiotic characteristics (sediment type, depth, time of the day and night) of the study area.
