Sažetak
Recent developments and holistic analytic approach in medical and genetic epidemiological anthropology have shown that this discipline makes a significant part of contemporary medical action by overbridging several other biomedical disciplines which lack the traditional aims of medical anthropology to understand both social and ecological in the aetiology of many diseases and disturbances. The global ecological, migrational, demographic, social, economic and other changes and their effects on regional developments at the population level, require a review of current research topics and international co-operation and coordination of research goals and their potential application in resolving many practical problems. They affect also research carried out by medical antrhopologist, psychiatrists and epidemiologists, as well as specialists in human biology, auxology and genetics. Medical anthropology is increasingly characterised by interdisciplinary interaction, with recent efforts to link microdomains and macrodomains of analysis, to be able to examine individual experience in the context of both local communities and global political and economic dynamics, presented through different models of studies and analyses. In view of expansion of our abilities in crossdisciplinary collaboration to contribute to global efforts to eradicate disease and promote health, no means of communication is more efficient and productive as physical gathering of scientists which provides healthy exchange of information of different subdisciplines involved in the research topics. By its approaches it offers a new perspective in the research of multifactorial complexity of many diseases and the role played by the permanent interaction of genetic and/or ecological factors in their aetiology.
