Sažetak
Work-related values in transition: Trends and implications
Societies in transition tend to undergo important shifts in value systems that in turn may influence peopleŚs behavior relevant to transition processes. A series of studies undertaken in Croatia compared the values surveyed during the transition period of 1990s with the values surveyed in 1980s before the transition began. The comparison revealed that utilitarian and individualistic values underwent significant increase in importance, while self-actualizing and social values remained unchagned. We attribute the observed value shift primarily to changed socioeconomic conditions and discuss its meaning for the organizational transformation.
