Sažetak
This paper will give a clear and systematic analytical presentation of the achieved results in tourism industry in Croatia during 2008 and 2007. A particular attention was given to the importance of researches and the analysis for the purpose of management and to its practical use. The directions of future development have been defined as the main support in planning and decision making in tourist management. Methodology used for the survey was a survey questionnaire made among tourists and tourist managers that the authors of this paper have made during 2008. The questionnaire was used as an instrument to obtain necessary indicators of tourist satisfaction with some tourist destination offers and tourist managers profiles in the County of Istria. Many other statistic indicators and secondary data were used. The aim of that survey was to identify their opinions and to evaluate the tourist offer, and identify characteristics of managers, in order to improve and overcome the current situation. Based on surveys and analyses that have been carried out and implementing theoretical conceptions new possibilities and restrictions to improve the development of tourism in Northern Adriatic have been defined as well as measures for a quality offer improvement. A particular emphasis has been given to measures to develop selective forms of tourism.
