Sažetak
A large number of different fishing gear, whose name originates from a names of fishes and other marine organisms that are caught in it, has been used in the eastern Adriatic. The largest number and quantity of fishing gear has been used in coastal area of the eastern Adriatic. Because of important commercial species which are living in coastal area, it is necessary to monitor effects of fishing gear on coastal fish communities in order to determine its damaging influence and according to results obtained, define conditions of its optimal exploitation which will be in the function of appropriate management of sea living resources in the coastal
