Sažetak
Subject of this chapter is maritime passenger shipping: theoretical aspects, technology of maritime passenger shipping, and passenger ports as important element of the infrastructure of maritime passenger shipping. The first section deals with maritime passenger shipping - its development and types of maritime passenger traffic through regular service passenger shipping, cruising and excursions. Subsequently, the main characteristics in regular passenger shipping service are determined. The concept of cruising together with the main characteristics of free shipping is investigated. Theoretical aspects of maritime passenger shipping technology are then analyzed, including the main phases of maritime passenger shipping technology. The second section brings the concept of maritime ports and factors having influence on the maritime passenger ports development. The third section brings Croatian maritime passenger shipping strategy, aiming at the stronger role of the maritime passenger shipping, in the Croatian strategy of maritime development. The final section brings conclusive remarks.
