Sažetak
Services have become an indispensable element of the economic structure on the international level as well as on the national and regional level. The result of such a trend is clearly visible in the upward tendency of importance of the tourist sector and the transport sector. In 2000, the share of transport in GDP was 8% while the share of hospitality industry was 5%. In both services, the proper functioning and expansion depends largely on the quality of human resources. The irrational approach towards a great potential offered by the Adriatic Sea is unforgivable but, nevertheless, it has been quite strongly felt. Talking about the affirmation of the strategic orientation towards the resources of the Adriatic will only be possible upon the completion of the motorway infrastructure which is presently underway.
