Sažetak
The aim of this paper is to present shelf-life of lacquer cans with two different lacquer coatings and different plates for body and ends. The tested samples, packed with tomato puree, sterilised and stored at temperature of 20 °C and 36 °C, were opened at pre-arranged time periods. The information about protective abilities and corrosion resistance of samples, we were characterized measuring content of head-space gas (gas chromatography), tin and iron release in products by atomic absorption spectrophotomety (AAS/ZE/GF) and visual inspection of can internal surface. The results indicated that lacquer coating (organic protection) with good continuity and uniformity has a greatest influence of shelf-life of caning products. This conclusion was conformed to tin and iron concentrations and hydrogen contents. From a practical point of view, all types of tested containers were found to be well protective and could be use for commercial applications.
