Sažetak
We all share a world in which the time has come to "keep peace". Consequently, the crucial time has come when we need to jointly address the issues of the ways in which to limit the conflicts, as well as encourage the understanding among various groups that constitute our "global village". Thus, this Conference is just one in the line of many world-wide recently organized Conferences of such strives, but also in itself highly significant since it prolongs a discussion among academics and practitioners both devoted to the issues concerning peace crisis. This paper deals with the fact that the issues of peace conduct and conflict resolution are more often than not ascribed to the problematic of identity, ethnicity and nationality research topics, rather than to the universal quality of morals that each individual should have. After all, there is a common denominator in all our actions, whether we live in a area of conflict or peace, and it is linked to the everyday behavior we display. Namely, the core of any conflict always arises in connection to the incapacity to create and maintain situations of mutual understanding and constructive relationships. At this level it does not matter much whether you are a practitioner, academic or the "local" in a area of a conflict. What matters are the morals with which you observe and act upon in the community around you and whether you are conducive to peacebuilding efforts. Although the thorough analyzing of historical, ethnographic, and geographical facts might explain the outbreaks of some of the world-wide conflicts, they become inefficient in explaining the prolonged conflicts in most cases (Cyprus, Palestine, Bosnia). Through addressing important examples this paper suggests that as well as aid, peace is often imposed from the outside by means that worsen the original conflict since many times the morals of those that provide coordination in sensitive areas have a detrimental impact by undermining the positive forces within the population under conflict.
