Sažetak
The consolidated financial statements are especially important in the reporting of the public sector as a whole. Their aim is to indicate the sources of funds for financing units of the public sector and service delivery to citizens. At the same time, the consolidated financial statements must provide information on what collected public funds is spent, and which objectives are achieved by investment public funds. In the preparation of consolidated statements, and with the purpose of obtaining a complete and high quality information, it is very important in the consolidation include all public sector units. Because of that, it is very important to establish a good coverage of the public sector. A key role in it have the international statistics standards. The paper focus on the specifics of the general government sector as it is defined in the Republic of Croatia and the characteristics of the subjects involved in the consolidation.
