Sažetak
The paper examines changes in the dynamics of fertility in Croatia. The analysis covers the period from 1850 to 2007 ; however emphasis is placed on the period after WWII, and especially on current events and processes. The specificities of the fertility transition are indicated, and causes of this change are explained. The author established that all regions (counties) in Croatia have a low level of fertility. Croatia is characterised by lowest-low fertility, which together with a negative migration balance is leading to reduction of Croatia's overall population.
