Sažetak
Teaching young language learners is quite different from teaching adult learners. Teachers have to create a friendly learning environment and provide interesting materials. One of the best ways to do so is to use authentic literature. Rhymes and songs are ideal for young learners because there is a lot of repetition in them. Also, vocabulary is not difficult. Poetry has a positive affect on pronunciation, writing and reading skills. It also changes the way students express their emotions and opinions, helps students to understand literature and adresses such issues as intercultural awareness. Since children lose their interest quickly, it is important for teachers to prepare entertaining activities for them and encourage participation.
