Sažetak
The theory of longitudinal and side launching of ships on an even keel by turning pads on circular slipways as a two dimensional problem is developed. Launching phases, comprising pad rotation, ship slide along pads and ship rotation in cradles, are specified. Considering the dynamic equilibrium of given and generated forces, i.e. ship weight and inertia, buoyancy, resistance and water inertia, as well as friction, a system of nonlinear differential equations of motion for each launching phase is derived. Also, transition conditions from one to another phase are established.
