Sažetak
Extensive investigation of launching of ships and floating structures from horizontal berth by the tipping table principle, which comprises structure dynamics, experiments and strength analysis, is outlined. Numerical simulation and the model test of the side launching of a large tanker are analyzed and correlation between calculations and measurement results is performed. The influence of ship trim and wave generation on ship and quay safety respectively is underlined. Also, the advantage of this novel way of launching are pointed out.
