Sažetak
The design of swash bulkheads in a cylindrical cargo tank in the form of spherical shell is presented. Their connection to the reinforced ring frames over tank saddle supports is given in order to avoid use of an expensive patent solution of the joint by the elastic springs. Since the construction of the swash bulkhead is not yet included in the classification rules, a detailed strength analysis was performed using finite element method. Design pressure and sloshing pressure were included into the analysis.
