Sažetak
This paper proposes new concept of competence management, i.e. competence development and competence retainsion within telecom research and development organizations. According to the new approach a competent person is an individual that has competencies in variety of different areas and she/he can easily adopt to new functionalities and requirements, rather than an individual who is specialized only in particular area of an organizational concern. The new approach is extremely important since we are living in time when telecom research and development organizations constantly need to decrease projects’ development time and costs and at the same time not jeopardizing the quality. The paper also elaborates on the relationship between knowledge and competence and it gives real life example of Competence Management Process. Ericsson Competence Management Process is presented as an example.
