Sažetak
In the research presented in the paper, CAD methodology has been applied in the field of endodontics with the aim of improving the representation of human root and root canal morphology. The aim of this work was to develop a user-friendly procedure for handling large number of input data in order to obtain accurate 3D reconstruction of root and root canal complex geometry. The modeling procedure uses simple CAD software without advanced surface creating and editing capabilities, compensating these shortcomings by using routines written in AutoLISP. The developed routines substantially decrease the amount of user's workload. The devised computer program enables automatic generation of transversal cross-sectional curves, at the same time enabling the user to rearrange the curves using several criteria. Using these data three-dimensional models were reconstructed with the purpose of extracting visual and numerical data.
