Sažetak
The decision to introduce the dictatorship of King Alexander Karađorđević I was not a product of a single moment. It was prepared over a longer period of time and in its realization the King heavily relied on the military circles. Several times he threatened to introduce the dictatorship from the court where he was surrounded by his Guards commanded by Petar Živković. This paper aims to present an overview of the known facts about the influence of the military circles on the reign of Karađorđević and the introduction of the dictatorship in 1929.
