Sažetak
The paper discusses recent developments regarding the notion of the creative city in the transitional context of South East Europe. Various defitions of the creative city are discussed (Landry's, Florida's, creative industries-centred)and the successfulness of their application in the SEE context is gauged on the basis of the results of the British Council's UK-SEE Forum project devoted to the subject. The success and failure factors are discussed on the examples of Plovdiv, Novi Sad, Split and Tuzla.
