Sažetak
Production of orthopedic equipment has witnessed a radical transformation thanks to the use of digital methods in information gathering and design process [19, 20]. Although the conventional production methods are still most commonly used in orthotics, new technologies have been developed and it is expected that they will replace the manual manufacturing in the near future. Furthermore, the demand for new technologies is growing by day and is thus imposing new criteria for the use of digital system modules. Such development implies the improvement in accuracy and production speed, as well as the enhancement of the programming tool used in the design process. In this process, it is very important to use good quality input data, which are then modified in the desired direction, or are used as parameters according to which modifications cab be made. When we speak of computer design of foot orthoses, such as orthopedic insoles, the most important input information is the foot topography [18]. In practice, it is important to conduct foot digitization or to take the impression of the patient’s foot in a highly accurate and simple manner. Moreover, the result is supposed to include the largest possible amount of necessary details as its quality further determines the final look and functionality of the orthoses. For this purpose, the possibility of using digital methods, based on the projection of a sinusoidal pattern onto the object, has been examined. Also, the availability and price of the necessary hardware, as well as the accuracy and conditions of the measurement process have been taken into account.
