Sažetak
The purpose of this study was to attend the effect of growth hormone on the frequency of immunoreactive gastrin cells in the antrum of adult rats bearing transplantabile hypophysial tumor which produces STH and prolactin. Quantirative stereological analysis of the immunoreactive gastrin cells was studied in the antrum of six rats of Fischer strain bearing transplantabile hypophysial tumor (Mt TB) and in six control rats. Tissue samples were fixed in Bouin's solution, dehydrated and embedded in fybrovax, and then cut at 8 ± 1μm. Gastrin cells were identified using unlabeled antibody peroxidase-antiperoxidase (PAP) method. Stereological analysis of the volume density (Vv.), numerical density (Nv) and average volume (V) has performed according to the point counting principle using Weibel's multipurpose system. The results showed that the volume density of the gastrin cells in the antrum of Mt TB rats (Vv=0, 066±0, 005 mm0) compared with control rats (Vv=0, 048±0, 003 mm0) is significantly higher (p<0.01). Numerical density of antral gastrin cells of Mt TB rats (Nv= 12.163± 1.700 mm-3) compared with control group (Nv=7.989± 1.042 mm-3) is also significantly higher (p < 0, 05), while the average volume of the gastrin cells of Mt TB rats (V=/5, 85±1, 01/x103 μm3) and in control animals (V=/6, 39~ 0, 68/x 103 μm3) were the same (p < 0, 6). The results indicate a significant increase of volume and numerical densities of antral G-cells in rats bearing transplantabile hypophysial tumor which produces STH, while the average volume of the same cells in experimental and control group showed no differences.
