Sažetak
Nazor o Istri kao regiji istarske ljestvice i baluna, koji je dominirao u hrvatskoj stručnoj i široj kulturnoj javnosti tijekom 20. stoljeća, u posljednjih se dvadesetak godina mijenja prema nazoru o plurietničnosti i multikulturalnosti istarske glazbene i plesne baštine. I istarski program u okviru 43. međunarodne smotre folklora (koji obuhvaća folklornu priredbu, koncert crkvenog pučkog pjevanja, radionice vokalne i instrumentalne glazbe te koncert etnoglazbe) također upućuje na njezinu kulturnu raznolikost, ističući obje vodeće istarske tradicije – tradiciju tijesnih intervala i tonalitetnu tradicija, kao i njihova složena prepletanja. // The view of Istria as the region of the Istrian scale and balun dance, which had dominated Croatian professional and wider cultural circles in the 20th century, has gradually been transformed in the past two decades towards a view of the pluri-ethnicity and multiculturality of Istrian music and dance heritage. The Istrian program at 43rd International Folklore Festival (which includes folklore performance, concert of church folk singing, workshops of vocal and instrumental music, and world music concert) also attempts to represent cultural diversity of the region, emphasizing two leading Istrian traditions – the tradition of narrow intervals and tonal tradition, as well as their complex interweaving.
