Sažetak
An engineer has to be problem solver. The design procedure can be very complicated and extremely time consuming. There is no doubt but that design procedure has to include numerical optimization. In such a design philosophy the most power tool is the finite element method based on high speed computers. The mentioned optimal design procedure includes both the stress and strain analysis in all of design models such as initial model, approximate model and improved model.
In this paper the possibility of shear stress analysis of different cross-sectional shapes of beam-type structure using special finite elements is presented. Shear stress analysis is made on the basis of the warping of the cross-sectional area.
