Sažetak
Bowflare slamming describes dynamic wave impact on the bow side shell structure above the design waterline. During water entry the bow structure is subject to high pressure loads which sometimes lead to local damages that usually do not affect the survivability of the ship. For practical purposes, the values of these pressures are usually obtained by simplified procedures suggested by classification societies. In this pa-per the comparison of bowflare slamming pressures estimated by three classification societies are presented. The results suggest significant difference in estimated values of pressure as well as values of plating thick-ness.
