Sažetak
The optimal estimation of a ship's navigation parameters in the tracking control is presented in the paper. It is a nonlinear stochastic state estimation problem. For the design of the extended Kalman filter a kinematic maneuvering ship mathematical model was used. Compensation of the roll and pitch effects in position measurement was achieved using appropriate models, based on the suitable second-order shaping filters. For practical realization, a new simple form of the extended Kalman filter is shown. It is a good compromise between estimation accuracy and realization complexity.
