Sažetak
During the years of studying aerial photographs of Slavonia a series of archaeological remains in the form of a circle were discovered. Some of them are prehistoric circles which are especially evident in Eastern Slavonia and are mainly the remains from the Neolithic and the Bronze Age as is determined by a survey of some of these sites. They are mostly located on agricultural cultivated fields and trenches and the central plateau are usually more or less destroyed. The other are the remains of the medieval earthen fortifications which are often overgrown with trees and are found in lowland flood-prone areas. Since they are rarely under agricultural plantations they have well-preserved defensive ditches and ramparts. Remaining circles are the remains of tumuli. One part belongs to the so called Pannonian Noric Roman tumuli. There are also circles which have no particular purpose and are probably the remnants of folds for animals in flood-prone areas, primarily Podravina, but can be, in smaller number, found in other parts of Slavonia as well. These are mentioned in medieval and modern sources. For study of these circles recordings from the ARKOD browser (satellite) of the Ministry of Agriculture, images from Google Earth, vertical shots of the State Geodetic Administration and the obliquely captured images.
