Sažetak
This paper presents one approach for treatment of common cause failure events in on-line support modeling applications. With this approach main goal was to evaluate practical implications of specific configuration status. Results are showing that main important fact for this problem is to understand configuration background. We found two most important specific cases. In the case where some component is out of service for the reason which is not categorized as primarily common cause relevant (i.e., maintenance) then dependent events in common cause group are not affected (i.e., they can still happen with unchanged probability). On the other hand when some component is out of service for the reason which is or can be common cause relevant then dependent events in common cause group might be significantly affected (i.e., now they might happen with increased probability). One approach to quantify this change for the dependent events in common cause group is presented and illustrated with practical results. Presented results are showing huge importance of proper treatment for common cause events in particular configurations.
