Sažetak
In this paper different of calculating of ships systems are proposed. Marine diesel engine system represents a set of components and subsystems, their relations and connectivity in a complex manner suitable for useful work. For good ships functionality it is necessary to achieve suitable work quality for each component. System reliability is proposed in comparison to parallel and serial element connection. In case example reliability of marine diesel engine type B&W with serially connected subsystems has been calculated.
