Sažetak
The aim of this research is to determine the current situation and differences in some motor abilities between students at the Faculty of Teacher Education in Zagreb. The research was carried out at the beginning of summer semester of the 2008/2009 academic year on a sample of 78 first and second year students at the Faculty of Teacher Education, University of Zagreb. The sample of variables comprised a set of six standard tests for evaluating primary motor abilities. Descriptive statistics standard statistical parameters were calculated. For determining differences in motor skills of preservice (preschool and primary education) teachers a t-test for independent samples was applied. The results show that preschool students in almost all tests, except in the test plate taping, achieved better results than primary teacher education students, which also means that their motor skills are more developed. A statistically significant difference was obtained in the test curl ups.
