Sažetak
This paper focuses on the problem of optimal plastic design of beams as a part of the fundamental problem of structural optimization. A very efficient method, called plastic design criteria, is introduced and its application on several examples is presented. In this work two specific cases are considered. Namely, for each example the plastic design criteria method, based on fully stressed cross-sectional area, is introduce ones with freely supported beam and next time with optimal located supports. On the basis of comparison it is clearly seen the load capacity of beams.
