Sažetak
Textile modification for achieving multifunctional materials is one of the guidance for future textile development in Europe. Since polyester aminolysis with EDA and hydrolysis with NaOH produce huge amounts of textile wastewater the increasing demand for conservation of natural resources and environmental protection has forced researches to find alternatives to current technologies in order to reduce water consumption, increase energy-efficiency and cut emissions of hazardous chemicals. Currently, textile wet processes assisted by ultrasound treatment are of high interest for the textile industry. Therefore, the present paper will show the results of the modified polyester surface by ultrasound for achieving better auxiliaries’ absorption and UV protection. For this purpose the polyester fabric from poly(ethylene-terphthalate), PET, for summer cloths was modified by ultrasound with and without nanoparticles of activated natural zeolite addition. Water absorption and optical brightener, as well as UV protection, were investigated. It was shown that ultrasound modification results in great absorption increment. Never the less, optical brightening increases fabric whiteness and UV protection, as well as additionally showing synergistic effects with zeolite.
