Sažetak
According to all guidelines for the management of hypertension, nonpharmacological measurments are a crucial element. Our goal was to examine compliance to nonpharacological therapy in 484 patients who wrer treated in our depatment in the period of 2002-2007. The most frequently reported nonpharmacological measures were: reduction in salt intake, loss of weight, increased physical activity, decreased acohol consumption and stress reduction efforts. Statistically higher values of systolic BP were obtained in patients with higher BMI. In line with them, patients older than 50 years and those who had hypertension for more then 10 years used greater number of nonpharacological measures. Patients are more inclined to comply with nonpharamacological measures when the disease has already advanced or is more expressed.
