Sažetak
In this study the author wants to emphasize the importance of the separation experience in the group dynamics, investigated by most authors (W.Maar, 1989 ; P.F. Kauff, 1987 ; D. Wardi, 1989 ; M. Kelly, 1985) through a termination phase of the group development. Through these investigations a positive influence of the separation experience on individuation process provoked by the same is shown. These observations are explained with M. Mahler's developmental theory about the separation-individuation process of development. At heart of this study stands the question about limitations of these investigations of the separation experience only to the frame of a termination phase, which explains that such process provoked by the "separation experience" acquires the meaning of "termination process". Encouraged by his own investigations in the group, the author points out the significance of the confrontation and working through the separation experience in earlier phases of the group development where individuation processes of the group members can be activated, that may have a positive influence on further development of individual self-organization and more mature relationships in the group. Conclusive observations based on the experience in the group that has lasted for two years, indicate (1) positive influence of the separation experience on individuation processes of the group members ; (2) the coincidence of these group occurrences with phenomena described in termination phases of the group development, that indicates (3) the justified using of the terms "separation crisis" (Levine, 1979) or "separation experience" instead of "termination process" ; and finally (4) the confrontation and working through the separation experiences and their "dosage" during early phases of the group process which may have a significantly positive effect on further dynamics of the group.
