Sažetak
Consumer knowledge about labels on olive oil packages on the Croatian market was investigated. A questionnaire regarding seven most frequent designations for olive oil was submitted to 258 examinees. Consumer knowledge was assessed regarding the frequency of olive oil use in nutrition. The sample included students of agriculture, nutrition science and economy to investigate the influence of professional experience on consumer knowledge. The respondents gave an average of 30% of correct answers. Analysis of variance showed that the frequency of olive oil consumption influences the number of correct answers at 95% probability level. There were no statistically significant differences between professionals and consumers regarding the number of correct answers at 99% probability level.
