Sažetak
The raising interest in the impact of GSM mobile communication system on human health was the motivation for the research. Some reflections of the public debate on the subject are presented as well. The GSM base station (BTS) emission characteristics are analysed regarding the possibility to produce health hazards for the residents. Those characteristics were checked experimentally for a particular urban BTS site and validated according to present standards for human exposure. BTS site measurements results give no basis for the possible health hazards, when the present safety guidelines are taken into account.
