Sažetak
Durability of fixed restorations depends on correct indication, material selection for particular clinical case, correct procedures in laboratory fabrication and hygiene habits of the patient. Detailed anamnesis and examination will provide insight not only in the assessment of biological structures but also in the expectations that a patient has, which are important factors of success in prosthetic therapy. Ceramic is very susceptible to small errors in construction and therefore it is important to implement every phase of the work accurately and correctly. Selection of a specific ceramic system for a particular clinical case thus plays a more significant role than it is the case with other contemporary materials. This paper places emphasis on failures in clinical work especially during the grinding of the teeth. Although in every phase failures can occur that can result in dissatisfaction of the therapist, technician or patient, all members of the prosthetic team must work harmoniously and perform their job responsibly, as this is the only way for metal-ceramic and all-ceramic restoration therapy to be implemented correctly for a longer period of time. Ceramic is a demanding material, but its properties ultimately ensure satisfaction of the entire team.
