Sažetak
Advantages and problems of using static infrared thermographic devices (IR thermometers) have been described for temperature measurement of rotating excitation winding on a synchronous generator. The actual PQ diagram of a synchronous generator requests knowledge of excitation winding temperature for determining restrictions due to heating of the excitation winding. [3] Therefore, one must have temperature sensors set on the surface or inside the excitation winding, and their data sent to the acquisition system placed outside the unit, or one should use an IR thermographic device. Measurement has been done on a synchronous hydro-generator (500 kVA) in the laboratory while standing still using two different IR thermometers. These results have been compared to the results achieved with Pt1000 sensors and Bluetooth® ; wireless temperature acquisition system with high precision probes placed on the rotor.
