Sažetak
Art education is an important part of the school curriculum. In this article we examine the role of discipline-based art education (DBAE), as a part of the larger reform movement of general education. DBAE is a comprehensive approach to teaching art which represents a contemporary version of an understanding of art education as a discipline. A multicultural world needs a multicultural curriculum which does help students to develop an understanding of the commonalities and differences in art within and across cultures and DBAE has a potential for realizing it.
