Sažetak
Aim: To evaluate the microleakage through root canals filled with Epiphany/Resilon alone and after immediate or delayed fiber post preparation and placement. Materials nad methods: Thirty six extracted, decoronated, single-rooted teeth were randomly divided into three experimental groups (n=10) and two control groups (n=3). In the first group, the root canals were instrumented with ProTaper instruments to a final apical size of 25 (F2), and obturated using Epiphany/Resilon. The specimens in the second and the third group were obturated in the same manner as in the first group. In the second group, post preparation and placement were performed immediately after root canal obturation, in the third group, the same procedure was performed 2 days later. Leakage was examined at different time intervals using a dual- chamber bacterial microleakage model. The growth of Enterococcus faecalis in the broth was tested up to a period of 90 days. Results: Bacterial leakage in all three experimental groups occurred between 4 hours and 90 days. There was no statistically significant difference in leakage between experimental groups (p>0.05). Conclusion: Epiphany/Resilon with or without immediate or delayed post preparation and placement allowed leakage of Enterococcus faecalis.
