Sažetak
The aim of the investigation was to determine the productive (body weight and daily gain) and exterior characteristics (body measurements: height of withers, height of back, small of the back height, length of trunk, width of chest, circumference of the chest, circumference of the leg, head length, head width, index anamorphosis, body proportion index) sheep and lamb Romanov breed of different age. The investigation was conducted with 10 lambs at the age of 7 to 13 weeks and 30 sheep of different ages (age up to 2 years, 3-5 years and over 5 years). Experiment was conducted during the summer feeding season and except pasture sheep were fed by the meadow hay, soybean straw (ad libitum) and oats (200 g/day) while lambs had forage mixture with 14% crude protein and meadow hay (ad libitum). In the investigation period of 6 weeks lambs increased body weight for 8.4 kg (56%), while the average daily gain of lambs was 195 g. Increase in body weight followed the growth of other body measures as well as anamorphosis and body proportions indices. In the period from 2 to over 5 years, there were recorded increase in body weight of sheep for 14.5 kg or 30.72%, which followed other body measures as well as anamorphosis and body proportions indices. The research results indicate obligatory correction of nutrition in sense improving quality of meal especially in lambs.
