Sažetak
Three-dimensional ink jet printing is a rapid prototyping (RP) technique which is based on conventional ink jet printing. The 3D object is virtually sliced in layers and it is built by printing and joining consecutive layers (cross-cuts), solidified by reaction between basic materials, powder and binder. The 3D printing process described here, by ZCorporation, is the only process capable of printing in “ full” colour since in addition to clear binder it employs coloured binders as well. Image analysis is a computer-aided technique which is often used in a large number of industries and research areas. In this work, image analysis is used for evaluation of material interaction in three-dimensional ink jet printing which consecutively affects the reproduction quality of surface print elements. For this purpose, a test form is constructed, consisting of a number of different geometrical elements and characters. The test form is placed on a number of test plates, which are orientated in different relative positions in the build bed. The image analysis is performed by using ImageJ programme and custom developed routines, on images captured by a flat-bed scanner. The evaluation of achieved elements reproduction, depending on the position and orientation of the test plates, is done.
