Sažetak
Solving the problem of parking vehicles in towns, many European and world wide cities have attempted in various ways ; all in keeping with the required aims, material resourses at their disposal, and the potentials and limmitations of the traffic system at the time of implimenting given measures. Throughout the world many towns use, apart from planned (long-term) stratergies, vareious operative (short-term) measures for parking which manage transport demands. With the developement of wireless communication systems and their use in everyday lives of citizens, it is possible to use mobile communication for payment of parking. To enable this kind of payment, Croatia has developed a system called "m-parking" in co-operation with mobile companies. Parking is paid by sending an SMS message to special (m-parking) numbers which identify certain parking zones in every town, while for controling payment WAP/GPRS mobile phones are used. In the Republic of Croatia, so far the people have readily accepted this system for parking payment. In this work the statistical figures are analysed for parking payment in street parking areas with mobile phones, in the Republic of Croatia, from the time of implimentation till today ; that is from 2002 to 2007.
