Sažetak
The sightseeing of cultural-historical monuments and various forms of "cultural experiences are becoming more and more important as purpose of tourism travel. The fact that cultural-historical resources produce remarkable economic value when used for tourism suggests that tourism revenues can play an extremely important role in the conservation of the cultural-historical heritage. This is particularly important for medium and less developed countries. Even so, the favourable impacts which tourism can have in terms of heritage protection are often neglected. The main purpose of this work is therefore to draw attention to the importance of cultural tourism as a way of protecting the cultural-historical heritage and to identify the mechanisms, which can ensure proper use of tourism revenues for such protection.
