Sažetak
Many researches have been interested in Malvasia istriana white for over a century. This autochtonous grape variety with a great economic interest for Croatia, is represented with 62, 9 % in total wine-growing area of Istria. The fertility of the variety is high. The best quality of grape is achieved on the localities of the western part of Istria. Although the big diversity of ecological conditions (climate and soil type) the wines are of standard and high quality. The areas of this variety should remain the same values, due to the market interest, in order not to become a wine-growing monoculture. In the same time, its quality should be improved using all the appropriate technological possibilities.
