Sažetak
Factoring is a rather new financial service in Croatia that has been growing rapidly in the last few years. Financing of small and medium sized enterprises is an important issue in Croatia. These enterprises have limited access to bank funds as well as problems with the collection of debts from their buyers. The global financial crisis and its expected negative influence on Croatian economy in the year 2009 will only intensify these problems. In this text we will present the state of the economy and the financial environment in Croatia in 2008 together with the predictions for the year 2009 and the development of factoring in these conditions.
